Restaurant “Vera Park”

“Vera” (ვერა) is one of the famous spa regions in Tbilisi (Georgia). There was a very beautiful and unusual by its architecture Vera Bridge which crossed the river Vera (that gave the name to the place). The bridge was followed by a path to the magnificent Vera Park (and it is still there). At the beginning of the current century it was a place of summer rest and fun. Almost every small garden in this park was converted into a cafeteria or a tavern. In the evening, when it wasn’t so hot outside, many people used to come to these gardens. Exactly in Vera Park a famous Georgian artist Niko Pirosmani met his true love, the actress Margarita, which produced the story of the famous song “Millions of scarlet roses”.

 

Unfortunately, this love was unanswered. Many rich and noble people tried to conquer her love and affection, but she was unapproachable thinking that, since she belonged to the whole nation, she couldn’t belong to anyone particular. The highest point of their relationship was several pots filled with flowers which Niko once sent to her house on the day of her birthday. The delivery men silently put the flowers near Margarita’s house, and soon the whole street was covered with them. In spite of this beautiful legend, there almost weren’t any roses but lots of Iranian lilacs and acacias.

 

 

Under the intent gazes of her neighbors Margarita came up to Niko and gave him a passionate kiss for the first time… Since then nothing else happened between them. Poor Niko Pirosmani died in complete misery and unloved. And only after his death he became worldly famous…

Relaxing mood in the park is created by cheerful murmur of the fountain at the entrance, real fish in the pond and the green garden stretched along the fence. In summer you can hear ceaseless birds singing and feel the sweet odour of the flowers; in winter our guests can contemplate the unusual exhibition of ice sculptures…

 

The main hall of the restaurant is decorated in classical style and can accommodate up to 90 people. Comfortable couches and soft illumination create the incomparable, warm and cosy atmosphere of genuine hospitality. If you are a real expert and admirer of Georgian cuisine, then you should definitely sit near the window, leisurely open the menu and first enjoy the reading process: lobio, chakhokhbili, shahlyk, khinkali, adjabsandal, madzoon, chanakhi… everybody will be satisfied.

 

Besides rich wine and bar list you will be offered a big choice of hookahs, there are even some especially made for ladies. This is an ideal place not only for business meetings but also for family dinners and romantic dates.

 

The banquet hall has a separate entrance and can accommodate 150 people. The interior is designed in light colors, all tables are round which is convenient for banquet seating. You can celebrate a birthday party or corporate party, banquets, weddings – for each event we have special loyal conditions and individual approach. You’ll be offered the rich banquet menu and everything necessary for a good event organization: a big screen, portable projector, hi-tech sound and light equipment.
